No more money for Raiders? Sports Headlines Reactions 2/1/17

Well, it is hump day, and we are only 4 days away from the Super Bowl.  Drama is going to be high this week in the NFL, but drama is always high in sports, that is why some people like it, and others hate it.  This week is no different, and neither were the headlines in sports…

“Kyle Shanahan loses playbook for Falcons”

This is not ideal for the Falcons.  At least Dan Quinn is not going to fine Shanahan for losing the playbook, there is no need to bring more controversy to a already controversial week.  You just know that if the Falcons lose to the Patriots, that some Falcons fans (and Roger Goodell) are going to say that the Patriots stole the playbook and cheated.

“Goldman Sachs pulls out of Raiders relocation deal”

I have already gave my opinion on the Raiders and Las Vegas.  This is not a smart move, and it just got more complicated.  Goldman Sachs, the bank, pulled out of the Raiders deal, because Sheldon Adelson, an investor of $650 million, also pulled out of the deal.  Goldman Sachs and Adelson have close relations, so it is not a big surprise for this to happen, this will make it really hard for the Raiders to relocate.

“St. Louis Blues fire Head Coach Hitchcock”

This is big news in the hockey world, Hitchcock has coached the Blues since November of 2011.  His overall record is good, Hitchcock has a 248-124-41 with the Blues, and last season they made a playoff run.  The Blues did not fire Hitchcock because he is bad, but because expectations where set high for him and the Blues this year.  Hitchcock should be able to find a position fairly quickly.  Mike Yeo, who was the assistant coach for the Blues this year and was the coach of the Wild, is now the coach of the Blues.  We will see if this move was more advantageous to the Blues or not.

Well, there you have it, fellow Sports Reaction’ists.  How did you react to the headlines today?  Remember, be the best sports fan you can be.
