Yankees becoming desperate? Sports Headlines Reactions 2/8/17

Well, we are in the middle of the week again, and it seems to be a drag.  The NFL season is over, and there will be no more football till August.  Basketball is still around and many other sports as well.  Even though some leagues are in the offseason, that does not stop headlines from being published, which means controversy and drama.

“Chris Carter signs with the New York Yankees”

Carter had 41 home runs last season, tied for the most.  Carter is a slugger who either hits home runs or strikes out.  The Yankees are desperate to win a World Series, not because they have to, but because they want to.  Carter signed a one year, $3.5 million contract.  We will see if this gives the extra push that the Yankees need for a playoff run.

“Lonzo Ball’s brother, LaMelo, scores 92 points in HS game”

Lonzo Ball, from UCLA, has a brother who also can play basketball.  92 points.  92 POINTS!  That is a lot of points, now I know it is high school, but still, you have to have talent to be able to do that.  Wilt Chamberlin scored like a hundred points in a game, (he was in the NBA though) and LaMelo proved that he is dominate in High School, wonder which college will pick him up.

“Browns release quarterback Josh McCown”

The Browns have an important decision this year, they can either draft a QB, pick up a QB in free agency or keep their own.  McCown was the most consistent quarterback they had, even though his ceiling was low.  It looks like the Browns are going to try and find a quarterback this offseason, which will certainly benefit the Browns.
