Another week, another article, another headline. This weekend has had its up and downs. Today, the headlines ranged from a Coach diagnosed with a disease, players being cut, and a winning streak capably of reaching a hundred wins. Whether your an football fan, basketball fan or a sports fan in general, you need to react to these top headlines.
“Head Coach Bill Snyder diagnosed with throat cancer”
77 year old Bill Snyder has been diagnosed with throat cancer, but he expects to be back with the K-State wildcats in the upcoming season. Bill Snyder has been coaching along time, but he still has a lot of energy left in him. Snyder went 9-4 last season, and has been inducted into the college hall of fame. Are thoughts and prayers go to Bill Snyder and his family, as he will be receiving treatment this offseason.
“Victor Cruz and Rashad Jennings released by the Giants”
Victor Cruz, 30, has been released and Jennings, 31, also got released, making lots of room for the Giants cap this season. Cruz started his career well, recording two consecutive 1000 yard seasons. Jennings has never had acclaimed success, never recording a 1000 yard season or reach the 200 carry mark.
“Kevin Love seeks second opinion on injury”
Love is going to miss some games, and it started with back spasms, but now he is experiencing swelling and pain in his knee. Love and the Cavaliers are going to get a second opinion. Love has been averaging 20 points and 11 rebounds so far this season. If the Cavaliers have hopes of making it to the Finals, it will be more realistic and comforting for them to know that their power forward is there.
“Myles Garrett begs for Cowboys to trade up for him”
Garrett is Texas born and raised. Garrett, one of the top prospects for the 2017 NFL Draft (maybe the top prospect) has said that he is okay with playing with whoever drafts him, but has asked for the Cowboys to trade up to pick him. It is understandably, but not reassuring for teams interested in him, knowing he wants to play for another team.
“UConn is one win away from 100 straight wins”
UConn’s Women Basketball team is one win away from 100 straight wins. UConn, ranked 1st, will be playing against South Carolina, who is ranked 6th. They will have their work cut out for them as they play a talented South Carolina team. UConn does not lack in confidence and know that they can beat any other team they go against. History may be made tonight, if UConn can successfully beat South Carolina.
