The draft is coming up, and teams are taking their chances on young talent to meet their needs. The first round of the draft is always unpredictable. However, this could be the year that someone can guess all of the picks. Here is what your team could (and should) pick in the 2017 draft.
Myles Garrett – DE. The best defensive player goes to one of the worst defense’s. Garrett could change that. This is the safest pick for the Browns.
Mitchell Trubisky – QB. The less risky choice at QB for the 49ers. San Fran’s new coach will love the skill set that Trubisky can bring to a dysfunctional team.
Marshon Lattimore – CB. One of the best options at the secondary position. The Bears need to build their defense, and Lattimore has grand potential.
Solomon Thomas – DE. Tom Coughlin has always been hard defense, and high flying offense. Thomas would continue building on to the Jags defense.
Malik Hooker – S. Hooker is a great athlete, and I would not be surprised if the Bears pick him at 3. The Titans need some help in the secondary.
Jamal Adams – S. The Jets had a horrible secondary, and need desperate help at the position. Adams will add much needed talent, and depth at the position.
Jonathan Allen – DE. The Chargers picked a DE last year, and adding Allen could give the Chargers one of the strongest defensive lines in the league.
Leonard Fournette – RB. Newton needs help, and Fournette would take some of the pressure off of Cam. The Panthers definitely could use the best RB draftee.
Ryan Ramczyk – OT. The Bengals lost a couple of great offensive lineman in free agency. This is early for Ramczyk, but the Bengals are desperate.
Gareon Conley – CB. Sean McDermott will want a strong defense, and adding Conley to this defense will be what McDermott wants.
Reuben Foster – LB. The Saints have Drew Brees on offense, which will be enough. However, adding the best LB prospect will beef up their defense.
DeShawn Watson – QB. The Browns will take a risk at pick 12. Watson is high risk, high reward, and the Browns are willing to take a risk to hit the jackpot.
O.J. Howard – TE. The Cardinals have not had a strong Tight End for a while, but adding Howard will change that, and is a large threat.
Christian McCaffrey – RB. McCaffrey is one of the most talented players in the draft. The Eagles would love to have a skilled running back at the side of Carson Wentz.
Derek Barnett – DE. The Colts could pick an offensive lineman, but Barnett could be an important piece in a struggling Colts defense.
Mike Williams – WR. Williams is the best receiver available in the draft, and the Ravens nab their WR of the future.
Haason Reddick – LB. The Redskins can put points on the board, but lack a strong man behind their defensive line. In comes Reddick.
Corey Davis – WR. The Titans grabbed a top safety prospect, and now they pick up a needed wide out. The passing game will benefit.
Jabrill Peppers – S. The Buccaneers could pick a running back, but Peppers could become an outstanding player. They will pick up a RB later.
Cam Robinson – OT. The Broncos has plenty of talent, except on their O-Line. Robinson is a big force who could impact their line almost immediately.
Takkarist McKinley – DE. The Lions decide to continue building their defense. McKinley will add more beef, and depth to the line.
Forrest Lamp – OG. Adam Gase likes a powerful offense. Getting Lamp will help keep Tannehill safe, and benefit the running game.
Jarrad Davis – LB. The Giants has a good defense. However, they need more depth, and adding Davis is a safe pick, because of his talent, and good character.
Marlon Humphrey – CB. Last year, the Raiders picked up Sean Smith. That did not go as well…Maybe Humphrey will solve the problem.
Patrick Mahomes – QB. The Texans were looking to Romo to fill the gap behind center. With Romo in the booth, the Texans pick the best QB on the board.
Malik McDowell – DT. The Seahawks have a good defense, but they will continue building their defense with McDowell.
Taco Charlton – DE. The Chiefs have lost Poe, and cut Howard. They need to add depth to their D-line, and Taco will be just that.
Tre’Davious White – CB. The Cowboys need a CB, and White can cover. White will be verily easy to fit into the play scheme.
T.J. Watt – LB. The Packers could use a CB, but the depth at the position is deep. So they pick up a LB with a lot of potential.
Charles Harris – LB. The Steelers could pick up a receiver to retain their offensive dominance, but instead they choose to add a OLB.
Kevin King – CB. Maybe the most unusal pick of the draft. The Falcons decide to take a chance on big bodied CB King.
John Ross – WR. The Saints need another WR. Ross is fast (broke 40 time record), and could become a major weapon for Brees.
