What is Going on with the Cavaliers, Why it is not a Surprise, and Where are they Heading?

At the time of writing this article, the Cavaliers are 4-6. A record that the 76er’s, and Denver Nuggets are better than. The Cavaliers are in a bit of trouble, and people are hitting the panic button. What is going on, and why should this have been expected.
The Cavaliers are currently not doing great. 4-6 is not good at all. However, this is just 10 games into 80+ worth of games, so no one should be that concerned about the Cavaliers. I wrote an article about how the Cavaliers could actually not make the Finals in 2018, but that was before a few trades had happened. However, my personal feelings about the Cavaliers, and their situation would say that the Cavaliers are still favorites to go to the finals. However, it shows that no one really is a true “Lock” for the Championship finals.
What is Wrong with the Cavaliers?
Many people will try, and use statistics to prove why the Cavaliers are not winning. The Cavaliers are 28th in points allowed, and 22nd in Rebounds. So some people would say that they need to get better on defense, and go up and grab the ball better. Not that I am against any of those reasons, for those are definitely a factor in the Cavaliers struggles. However, the Cavaliers have a Point Guard who is standing in place of Isaiah Thomas, until he gets healthy. They also have added a few important pieces in the offseason, to be on the court with LeBron. The main problem with the Cavaliers, at the moment, is them trying to get used to each other. LeBron, a point guard who is not the starter, and add in Dwayne Wade, who is good, all of whom that are probably not super comfortable with each other, and you definitely could expect a team to have a little bit of struggles.
Why this should have been Expected
There are different starters with the Cavaliers, and they have only been together for a few months, and have played only 10 REAL games. Any team, even a team with the all-great LeBron James, will have a few growing pains. The newcomers will have to get used to the play style, the game plan, and even, simply to build trust with the other players. This goes the same with LeBron, who has to get comfortable with these new players also. So it should not come as a major surprise to sports fans that the Cavaliers have some struggles, although even I am a little stunned by their record so far.
What should we Expect from the Cavaliers this Season?
I think that for the next few weeks this may continue, but it will get better as the year goes on. Once the team starts getting comfortable with each other, and the new players get used to the game plan, the Cavaliers will start going on a roll. The Cavaliers are not suddenly, going to fall from Final Favorite (second favorite) to a team that is not going to break .500 this season. The Cavaliers will be back in the playoffs, and everyone will start talking about how great the Cavaliers are once again.
However, that is just what I think, Sports Reaction Nation. But what do you think? Comment below on your season predictions for the Cleveland Cavaliers, or comment on anything you like. Thanks for supporting Sports Reaction, and remember, be the best sports fan you can possibly be, and do WLYF.

Great article as always. I mean, it’s only week two. The Cavs are going to be fine. It’s a matter of when not if. I had them as a 2 seed behind the Celtics and I think that’s still pretty attainable in the East. If they were in the West.. that would be a different story.

Yeah, I agree. It’s early in the year, and I think they will turn around in a week or so. It would definitely be interesting if the Cavs were in the West. Haha

Let’s not forget JR Smith hasn’t been making shots or defending well. Just looks lost. Korver has been looking awesome

That is very true.

Good stuff man. Agreeing with you here, I think they’ll be fine. They’ll end up the same 50-win team that (most likely) cruises to the Finals.
Losing Kyrie Irving killed them, although that may not be fair to say yet with Thomas still hurt.

Yeah, only time will tell to see if the Thomas-Irving trade was worth it for the Cavs.
