Who’s Getting Fired? NFL Head Coaches on the Hot Seat
It is a sad time to be a NFL fan…The season is about to end!!! It seemed like the season started just last week. However sad fans might get, there will be head coaches that will be even more depressed when they get the boot. Here is Sports Reaction’s analysis on the upcoming Head Coaching Firings.
My Picks for Coaches Most likely to get the Pink Slip
John Fox: Chicago Bears
John Fox usually joins a team, gets them to a Super Bowl, loses, than restarts somewhere else (Panthers/Broncos). However, Fox has not been able to get the ball rolling for the Bears, and no one truly will blame Fox too much. The Bears had some good wins this year, and some nasty loses. Fox will most likely be fired for the Bears mediocrity in the past few seasons. John Fox, 62, will probably be fired, and without a job. Will he be able to get a head coaching gig somewhere else? I guess we will have to wait and see.
Chuck Pagano: Indianapolis Colts
The Colts is a franchise that had many good years, with Peyton Manning playing on their team for over a decade, and Andrew Luck coming into the NFL as a future Hall-Of-Famer. However, the Colts have gone down hill FAST!!! Luck gets injured, the defense crumbles, and front-office goes into chaos. And right in the middle of this mess is Chuck Pagano. He has a great story, many fans love him, but he just does not get wins. The franchise is going in a different direction, and that means Chuck has got to go.
Dirk Koetter: Tampa Bay Buccaneers
This might be my most confident pick, because the Bucs have been HORRIBLE! Since Koetter has been with the Buccaneers, they have not made the playoffs. They have came close, and this year was expected to be the Bucs best season yet. But that “Best Season” never formed, and ended up to be one of Koetter’s worst seasons with the Buccaneers. The main reasons that Koetter could get the boot is, (1) Koetter is not a big name coach, does not have much of a history, and not much of a pedigree. (2) Koetter got more weapons this year, and still got worse. (3) Koetter has been with the Buccaneers for 2 years, and the team has digressed. Expect Koetter to not be a Head Coach next year.
Coaches Too close to call:
Jim Cadwell: Detroit Lions
Hue Jackson: Cleveland Browns
Jay Gruden: Washington Redskins
Bill O’Brien: Houston Texans
